Carcassonne on Windows Phone, Android, BlackBerry and Java devices
The tile-based game, which did not just have its name inspired by the southern French city of Carcassonne, received the German "Game of the Year" award in 2001 and sold more than three million copies ever since. The game, created by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede, is licensed by the Hans im Glück publishing company.
In exozet’s mobile adaptation, just like in the original board game, up to five players create a landscape made up of cloisters, cities, roads and fields. Every player occupies these areas with his follower pieces, the so-called "meeples". The player with the greatest strategic talent wins.
Apart from an extensive tutorial, the app also contains the official expansion "The River II", which makes the Carcassonne landscape more appealing and adds more tactical options for the players. The local multiplayer mode enables five players to compete, alternatively, the mobile version offers an artificial intelligence with individual strategies.
In cooperation with its distribution partner Advanced Mobile Applications (AMA), exozet has launched the Android version on Google Play, as well as on carriers worldwide. The Carcassonne app is available in English, German, French and Spanish. The app for Windows Phone was launched in cooperation with Microsoft Studios. It is available in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Korean, Japanese, (Brasilian) Portuguese and Chinese (Simplified).
